Dear [subscriber-firstname],
This week women from all corners of the globe will join in the celebrations surrounding International Women's Day. If you don't get the chance during the week to attend one of the many events being held in honour of the occasion, then simply do your bit by lending a hand or showing support to another woman. A phone call to say 'just thinking of you' can change an individual's day.
There is the train of thought, however, that International Women's Day has become a little passé since women have all but achieved equality in this country. But try convincing the women enduring a life of poverty in Third World countries that all their issues have been addressed. As a global community there is still much work to be done for women to reach equality. So it's definitely a day for women who can see the big picture and a very special day indeed for those women inspired to look outside their own backyards.
Have a wonderful week and celebrate all that you have personally achieved in your career, business and life - you deserve it.
Regards

| Sales | Next question please |
 |
|
Having a passion for your product is wonderful. Believing in it is crucial. Expecting other people to share your enthusiasm may be a step too far, but the answer to sales success can be just a question away. The key to a successful sales outcome lies in marrying your prospective customer's needs with your product's features and benefits. First, you need to find out just what your prospect's needs are and you do this by asking lots of questions. But be wary, this is not an interrogation and you don't want your prospect to feel they're undergoing a reincarnation of the Spanish Inquisition! Wendy Berry, Wendy Berry Sales Solution, discusses how to ask your clients questions and to keep the conversation flowing. Read more...

| IT Know-How: WNA Members need to stay alert and don't get caught by Email Scams |
 |
|
One of our Members has alerted us to an email scam being aimed at speakers inviting them to speak at a church conference in the UK, all expenses paid. On enquiry, the scammer requests credit card details in order to arrange your visa. This particular email even had contact details, including a phone number answered by the 'pastor' happy to help with your enquiries.
Scammers are using increasingly sophisticated social engineering techniques designed to trick you into handing over personal of financial details. It can be hard to tell if someone is trying to scam you. How can you protect yourself? Commonsense is the key. You can't win a lottery you haven't entered. If you haven't got a high profile, it's unlikely someone in another country is seeking you specifically to speak at their conference. If you have to ask "is this legitimate?" even for a moment, then chances are it isn't.
Knowledge is power. Click here to make yourself familiar with the types of email scams and hoaxes that are out there so that you can identify scam emails more easily.

Less than 5% of people follow up after a networking event. Following up by sending them a card or giving them a call to meet up again is a sure way to stand out from all the other people they meet that day.
