With good rainfall, warm waters and calm seas the coastline of the Arhemland near Groote Eylandt is proving to be the perfect playground for targeting the ever popular barramundi. Casting shallow running lures to bommies and rocky headlands or trolling creek mouths are proven methods producing regular catches. Whether you are an expereinced fisherman or simply keen to catch your first ever barramundi the thrill of hooking onto one of these fast running and high jumping sportsfish is still the same. Our professional and experienced guides will provide tuition and guidance as needed to help improve your fishing techniques and maximise your fishing results.
The Lodge offers single, twin or double share air-conditioned beachside accommodation fo up to 24 guests. Rooms have ensuites, mini bar fridge, tea/coffee facilities and private balcony offering superb views across the Gulf of Carpentaria. 
Andrew visited the Lodge late March and did an exploratory trip with local resident John Slaughter. Fishing proved successful with a number of barra landed including this beaut 101cm fish while casting to small creeks mouths. It was tension all round when they realised there was no net on the boat and landing a fish this size with no net was going to be more difficult. Luckily, the barra was reasonably well behaved and after a solid fight was carefully lifted aboard with boga grips. After a few happy snaps she was released. As you would most likely know fish of this size are the female breeders so it's always a good idea to let the big girls go.
